The SuMO™ Tissue Access and Resection System
Gastrointestinal cancer has a devastating impact on the lives of patients and is the second most common cause of cancer death in the United States. Once a suspicious lesion is identified during routine colonoscopy, physicians have been limited in their ability to treat patients endoscopically. Patients with large flat lesions are typically referred for a surgically invasive procedure which can be comprised of morbidity and digestive complications. The SuMO Tissue Access and Resection System is a highly innovative balloon technology and tissue cutting device that significantly extends the range of lesion sizes to be treated endoscopically.
